Artist's Comments

this is the product of impatience and experimentation!
i will resubmit this as a traditional piece, just give me time.
for now, i have given it a nice paper texture (i will likely use it again with the traditional piece just cuz... who paints on 300 year old paper?) and painted it in painter.
the linework is all done traditionally, including the kanji. And sometime soon in the future so will the watercolor.
but alas, I was impatient.
The combination of being one of the greatest games ever, and having a class on the subject of asian style painting, i just couldn't resist making some Okami fan-art. HOORAH

Pretty crazy awesome! XD
I'm actually working on a new piece for that Okami fanart competition, I haven't had a lot of time to work on it yet, but I should be able to get it done within the next week. I'm hoping to make a much nicer one, this one was a little rushed. Anyway, I freaking love Okami, and I now (as of yesterday) own both versions I just loveitsomuch XD

well, before you do, I'll warn you that it switched itself up. The techniques you learn later in the game get a lot easier to do... but you'd be surprised how hard it is to do a simple power slash. straight lines are so much harder. That and battling is pretty tough at first until you get the hang of the way the controller senses movement. If you get it, all I can say is the movement you make to attack has to be a lot like using a really big button, you can't just flail it wildly.
I mean, I game over'd in the first battle because I just couldn't figure out how to get it workin. Just watched Ammy stand there.
But hey, doing stuff like inferno and whatnot is SOOOO MUCH EASIER

I didn't imagine that at all, but now that you said it it makes sense , lots of sense, is there any extra from the PS2 version ??

I actually haven't gotten too far into it just yet (finals week and all) and the only thing I can really tell the difference about is that they only have the load screen w/ Issun and the paws, the other all-paw load screen is gone, and they don't allow you to get demon fangs from them (I never got that many of my fangs that way anyway, but it was fun to make the paws!!!) The menu screen doesn't let you change with L+R buttons, and it's a little laggy in the menu, but it's not hard to get used to.
and from what I've heard, when you beat it with all 100 beads you get invincibility instead of just really awesomely strong. I don't know that it was necessary, but oh well.
otherwise there's the option to output at 720p XD (wish I had a tv that could take that....)

My TV is toooooooooooooooo old for that, and the pawn game was awesome i gor lots of Fangs that way ^^ Button Mashing is FUN XD

And I don't have the patience to collect things like the beads for some reason I just can't stand to collect this things, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut the game still is wonderful, pretty, epic and everything like that, so it's sure buy !
Now waiting for Mario Kart Wii and Tales of Symphonia XD
